“Tajikistan is objectively interested in Chinese projects more than any other country in Central Asia, at least, because the difficulties experienced by the Russian economy significantly reduced the volume of remittances sent by Tajik migrant workers in Russia to their homeland. Chinese investment is almost the only major source of compensation for these losses”, said political scientist Rashid Ghani Abdullo in his article written exclusively for cabar.asia (Dushanbe, Tajikistan). Violation of women’s gender rights is not always and not in all countries considered as a crime, especially in Asia, and in rural areas. Most often, women and young girls are forced to endure discrimination in the family, which can escalate into a form of violence. For example, the right to “safe sex”, which is one of the reasons for the spread of HIV in Kazakhstan. (more…)
“People with HIV status should not have children” is a common misconception among people. In recent years, scientists and doctors have refuted old facts and claimed that HIV-positive people can have healthy children. Moreover, in some hospitals and clinics, healthcare personnel continue to discourage HIV-positive people from having children, stating that the child would be exposed to unnecessary risks. These and many other factors contribute to the problem of childlessness among HIV-infected not only in Kazakhstan but also throughout the world, which is an unacceptable subject to discuss openly in society. “If we talk about the prospects, it is possible to assume that, given the upcoming parliamentary elections, the crisis of leadership and of public confidence in the existing policy proposals of parties and their representatives, the popularity of “Kyrk Choro” will anyhow increase, especially in the regions”, noted Elmira Nogoibaeva, a researcher of socio-political processes. (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), in an article written exlusively for cabar.asia. (more…)
