According to experts, currently Kyrgyzstan pays much attention to the extremism and terrorism issues, while the religious intolerance, interreligious dialogue, non-discrimination have become secondary issues.
3,257 religious organisations are registered in Kyrgyzstan, including only one Buddhist. It was hard to find it since Kyrgyzstan has no pagodas. However, there’s an unusual summer house in Gornaya Mayevka near Bishkek, which is called by Buddhists “The place of path”, run by a Buddhist monk.
The disciplinary committee of the judicial council has been operating in Kyrgyzstan for slightly more than one year. According to the law, it reviews cases against judges who have violated the law. However, according to lawyers and human rights defenders, the agency that should make impartial judgements has turned to be prejudiced and politically charged.

Disputes about whether Tengrism is a religion, cult, ancient belief, shamanism or just a philosophy and mind-set have been on-going for 6 years. Its active followers believe this is a religion, whose holy book is the Manas epic. Others think it is a philosophy. According to experts, this is both a cult and an ancient belief. However, no organisation of Tengrists has been registered as a religious one so far.

More than a year has passed after the loosening of control at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. During this period, over two million people have crossed Dostuk checkpoint, which is seven times more compared to the similar period before the thaw in relations between the states. This has also affected the strengthening of kinship relationships, queues at the border and the growth of commodity turnover.
